Overview

The Permission page under Settings gives managers control over two key areas of club access: Club Managers and tournament Captains & Vice Captains. Managers can add or remove club managers and see a consolidated list of all captain and vice captain assignments across tournaments.

This guide covers how to view and manage club managers, how to assign players as managers using the Select Player modal, how captains and vice captains are displayed, and the validations enforced by the system.

To access Settings — Permission:

  1. Log in to CrickTeams as a Manager
  2. Click Settings from the left navigation menu
  3. Click Permission from the Settings sub-menu

Club Managers

The Club Managers section shows all users who have manager-level access to the club. Managers can perform administrative actions such as creating fees, managing players, and configuring settings.

Viewing Club Managers

Each manager is displayed as a tile showing their initials avatar and full name. Below the list, a capacity label shows how many more managers can be added (e.g. ‘4 more managers can be added’).

Removing a Club Manager

To remove a manager, navigate to their profile or use the manager tile actions. The primary manager account (club owner) cannot be removed.

Captains & Vice Captains

The Captains & Vice Captains section displays a consolidated table of all players who have been assigned a Captain or Vice Captain role across any tournament. This is a read-only view on the Permission page — assignments are made from the individual tournament settings.

Reading the Table

Each row in the table shows one role assignment:

ColumnDescription
PlayerThe player’s avatar initials and full name
Tournaments AssignedThe tournament the role applies to
RoleCaptain or Vice Captain
RemoveRemoves the captain/vice captain role from this player for that tournament

Removing a Captain or Vice Captain

Click the Remove button on any row to revoke that player’s captain or vice captain role for that specific tournament. This does not remove the player from the tournament roster.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who appears in the Select Player modal when adding a manager?

Only active club members who do not already have manager access are listed. Inactive players and existing managers are excluded from the list. You can search by name using the search bar at the top of the modal.

Can a manager also be a player?

Yes. Promoting a player to manager does not remove them from the player roster. They retain their player role and additionally gain access to all manager-level settings and functions.

What happens if I remove a manager?

Their manager access is revoked immediately. They lose access to Settings, Fees, Expenses configuration, and other admin functions. They remain as an active player on the roster unless separately removed.

Why can’t I see a player in the Select Player modal?

The player may be inactive, or they may already be a club manager. Only active players who are not already managers appear in the list. Check the player’s status under the Players section.

Where do I assign Captains and Vice Captains?

Captain and Vice Captain roles are assigned from the individual tournament settings, not from the Permission page. The Permission page provides a consolidated view across all tournaments and allows you to remove roles, but assignment must be done within each tournament.

Can the same player be Captain in one tournament and Vice Captain in another?

Yes. A player can hold different roles in different tournaments simultaneously. Each assignment appears as a separate row in the Captains & Vice Captains table on the Permission page.
